What Does a Blackboard Quiz Look Like?
Your instructor has probably included at least one quiz in your online course. There are many options for instructors to apply to a quiz and the following will help acquaint you with some of these features.

Single or Multiple Attempts
The quiz may be set up so that you may take it only once or you may be able to take the quiz multiple times until reaching a determine score. The instructor will give instructions as to how many attempts you may make. If you take the quiz more than once, remember that only the last score you receive will be the score that shows in the gradebook. Blackboard does not keep track of how many times you accessed the quiz nor does it keep the scores for each attempt.
If you accidentally open a quiz that you can only take once, you'll have to contact your instructor and have the instructor "clear" the attempt thereby giving you another opportunity to take the quiz.
Proctored or Time restricted
Your quiz may require a proctor in order to enter a password to gain access to the quiz. Follow the instructions in your course about getting a proctor for your exam. Make sure that you have an appropriate testing area in which to take the quiz - it should be in a place that's quiet with limited distractions and you need a secure computer with reliable internet access.
There might be a time limit on the quiz (i.e., not to exceed 2 hours). As you take the quiz, there may or may not be an elapsed time counter that appears in the window - this all depends on your browser you are using.

A one-minute warning will be displayed. When you see this warning, finish answering the question you are working on and prepare to submit your work.

Types of Questions
Your instructor may have chosen from the following types of questions. Some of these questions may be auto-graded giving you immediate feedback like multiple choice and true and false questions. Others, like essay questions, will require an instructor to read and assign points.
- multiple choice
- true / false
- multiple answer
- ordering
- matching
- fill-in-the-blank
- essay
Instructions and Saving
When you open a quiz, you'll be given quiz directions and information about taking the quiz. As with any assessment be sure to read all directly carefully. As you begin answering the questions, scroll down to the end of the exam and look for the "save" button. Be sure to save your work several times while you are working on the quiz. If for some reason you loose your internet connection at least the saved portion of your hard work will be retrievable. When you have finished the quiz and are satisfied with your answers click on the "submit" button to submit the quiz to your instructor.

Reviewing Results
When you have submitted the quiz you will immediately be given the opportunity to see the results. Click OK to see the details.

If your instructor has given question feedback this may be shown here. There might also be textbook page number references for you to return to for further study.
