Class Management

As per the Appointment letter, the following stipulations were agreed to by our faculty:

  1. In the interest of the student, lessons and examinations will be graded and returned to the CDE&IL office within nine days upon receipt. If the course is taught utilizing the CDE&IL web server and Blackboard software, response to student submission of assignments is expected to occur within three days. A reminder about overdue lessons during the previous two-week period will be issued at the appropriate payday. Repeated reminders will result in a warning from the CDE&IL staff. Repeated warnings will be grounds for cessation of this contract;

  2. Sound educational practices will be followed in evaluating assignments and providing appropriate individual attention, encouragement and feedback to students;

  3. The CDE&IL will be given adequate advance notice of any proposed absences that affect lesson turn around time so that students may be informed and any necessary arrangements may be made to find a temporary substitute;

  4. The CDE&IL will be informed of any intention to resign this position 30 days prior to the proposed effective date of the resignation;

  5. Payment for grading will be $10.00 per lesson and examination graded, with an additional $10.00 per final (lesson 78) grade sheet. Payment will be made on a bi-weekly basis;

  6. All courses will be limited to the maximum of the equivalent of seven (7) graded items per credit hour. Courses with graded items in excess of the maximum will be revised;

  7. Occasionally, it is necessary to make minor revisions to course syllabi, supporting materials, or course content. In this event, the CDE&IL Director should be contacted so approval for compensation may be issued. Payment for such minor revision is $20 per hour, up to and including 20 hours. Major revisions or new course development requires a separate memorandum of agreement and payment will be made according to the established course development rate.
